COVID-19 update: Number of Hingham cases decreased recently

September 15, 2021 by Carol Britton Meyer

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hingham decreased over the last two weeks, "which is good news," Town Administrator Tom Mayo reported to the Select Board Tuesday night as part of his ongoing updates.

The latest data from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health indicate 37 new cases over the last 14 days, compared to 50 new cases during the two-week period at the end of August. No information was provided as to whether the cases involve vaccinated or unvaccinated individuals.

"The vaccination rate for Hingham remains steady at 71 percent," Mayo said. The state recently published information about how to request a copy of a COVID-19 vaccination record. Visit https://www.mass.gov/info-details/requesting-a-copy-of-your-covid-19-vaccination-record for more information.
