Derby Street Shops is giving back to the community this holiday season with a special gift wrapping initiative supporting several local non-profit organizations. On Friday, November 24th, Derby Street will debutCommunity Wrapped, a new program that allows shoppers to have their holiday gifts wrapped for a worthy cause. On select dates throughout the season, shoppers can make a purchase at any store at Derby Street and then head to a heated tent on The Green where volunteers will happily accept a donation of any dollar amount and put the finishing touches on their gifts with seasonal wrapping donated by The Paper Store.
Derby Street Shops has partnered with twelve non-profit organizations with inspiring missions to launch Community Wrapped. They include A Place 2 Rise, uplifting individuals within the community in moments of need; Arc of the South Shore, enriching the lives of families and individuals with disabilities; Tedy’s Team, raising awareness of stroke and heart disease; Hingham Pride Project, increasing LGBTQ+ awareness and raising funds for community programs for LGBTQ+ youth; South School PTO, enriching the educational opportunities of kids; Hingham Girl Scouts, helping girls achieve their full individual potential through leadership development; and more. A complete list of participating organizations is included below; they will rotate each week.
“We are proud to partner with so many incredible organizations and support them through this heartwarming, community driven initiative. During this special season of giving, we hope guests will find joy in getting their holiday gift wrapping done with us as Community Wrapped brings extra meaning to each gift,” says Caroline Hessberg, General Manager of Derby Street Shops.
Community Wrapped will take place from 9am to 4pm on Friday, November 24th and on Saturdays through December 23rd. For more information on Community Wrapped, visit derbystshops.com/community-wrapped-holiday-gift-wrapping-service.
