WHAT: In a time when diversity and inclusion are more important than ever, and kids ease back into the classroom after months of at-home schooling, Derby Street Shops has partnered with the Hingham Pride Project to spread kindness with its Little Free Library Back to School Book Drive. The Hingham Pride Project, a non-profit organization that works to increase LGBTQ+ visibility in the Hingham community, has generously donated over 80 titles and nearly 160 books for all ages addressing gender, disabilities, sexual orientation, race, acceptance, self-love and more. Through this special initiative, Derby Street and the Hingham Pride Project hope readers will open a book from the library and feel seen by connecting with characters and storylines reflective of their appearance and own personal experiences. All books are complimentary and are available now at the Little Free Library at Derby Street Shops. To help support all members of the community, Derby Street encourages its guests to make book donations when visiting the property. For more information and a list of recommended books to donate, visit www.derbystshops.com/little-free-library-back-to-school-book-drive/.
WHEN: Beginning today, October 5, 2020.
WHERE: The Little Free Library is located outside of Crate + Barrel at Derby Street Shops; 98 Derby Street in Hingham, MA 02043. www.derbystshops.com; @derbystshops
