With Hingham Civic Music Theatre celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, the group has scheduled a special Oct. 21 concert featuring the exciting professional ensemble “Divas with a Twist.”

The Boston-area Divas specialize in jazzy stage programs that often are designed to promote South Shore organizations in their fundraising efforts. The Divas have now put on more than 250 shows, garnering terrific reviews. Performing in the Hingham production, which starts at 7:30 p.m. that October Saturday, will be Paula Markowicz, Christine Joyce, Tracy Silva, Joyce MacPhee and Nicole Malagodi. Like Hingham Civic’s own theatrical performances, the Divas will entertain at the Sanborn Auditorium of Hingham Town Hall at 210 Central St. Tickets for fundraiser attendees will be $25 each, and may be purchased at https://hcmttickets.ludus.com. Meanwhile, HCMT organizers have pointed out that additional donations to honor the HCMT’s three quarters of a century are being encouraged. The organization currently has a vital need for new light and sound equipment for future shows.

In its fundraising efforts, the Hingham organization notes that it is now offering the option of accepting Venmo donations, in addition to ticket sales. (It asks that supporters put “2023 Fundraising” in the comment field offered by Venmo.) Donations to HCMT by check also may be mailed in, addressed to Hingham Civic Music Theatre, PO Box 286, Accord, Mass, 02018.

As it prepares for the Divas-with-a-Twist gala, HCMT also has its own next musical theatre production in the works for early December. “Aladdin Jr.,” a thrilling production featuring 30 young actors between six and 13 years old, is in rehearsal currently at Sanborn, aiming toward shows on Dec. 1, 2 and 3. More information on that production is available at http://www.hcmt.org/home.html.
