With both sorrow and hope, we share the passing of Dorothy A. Bardsley, who went home to be with her Savior this past week. She passed peacefully, after a long illness, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, in the winter of 1937, Dorothy was the beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Bardsley. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing 65 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, faith, and family. Dorothy’s legacy lives on through her devoted husband, Robert, and their three daughters, who brought her endless joy: Debra Zicht and her husband Jay of Winchester, IN, Robin Bardsley of Weymouth, MA, and Bonnie Allen and her husband Scott of Parker, CO.
Her greatest delight was her growing family. She was blessed with six treasured grandchildren — Paul Allen and his wife Mykala of San Diego, CA, Colby Ritter and her husband Tex of Parker, CO, Kathryn (Katie) Allen of Parker, CO, Sarah Allen of Parker, CO, Hannah Stute of St. Paul, MN, and Asher Zicht of New Hope, MN and her heart overflowed with love for her two precious great-grandchildren, Rosalie Stute and Nova Allen.
Dorothy was a longtime member of South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham, where her faith in Jesus shone brightly. She cherished her time attending Community Bible Study and found joy in sharing God’s love with others. Dorothy also expressed her creativity through crocheting, generously donating her afghans to those in need, and writing heartfelt poetry that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service celebrating Dorothy’s life and faith on March 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at South Shore Baptist Church, 578 Main Street, Hingham, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to:

While we grieve her earthly absence, we rejoice in the promise that Dorothy now rests in the eternal arms of her Savior, fully healed and forever home.
“When your work on earth is done,
your life in heaven has just begun.
Your strides here were hard and long,
but there over now, your finally home.
Life wasn’t easy by choice or fate,
decisions made, sometimes too late.
A fight to the to the finish, always strong.
Rest easy now your finally home”
