Exciting news from Doublemint Home: the Hingham-based business has announced it will be opening at its first permanent location at 106 North Street.
The idea of establishing a permanent location for Doublemint’s products all originated with John Olson III of Woodworks, Etc. Wilson designed the kitchens of Jennifer “Jenny” Nugent and Megan Pollenz, the dynamic duo behind Doublemint Home; he later approached the Doublemint team with his idea of creating a retail space for them. Until this point, Doublemint Home had been operating out of its co-owners homes, in addition to appearing at pop-up shops in different locations around Massachusetts.
During Doublemint’s time at The Guesthouse, their landlord approached co-owners and operators Nugent and Pollenz to ask if they had any interest in a permanent space. They signed the lease within the week, and John went to work transforming the space into the Doublemint showroom!
“He’s created the perfect showcase for our products,” the Doublemint team tells me. “We are excited to share it and are thrilled to be a part of the Hingham Downtown Association.”
In other exciting news, Doublemint reveals they plan to be part of the Hingham Thursday Shopping Stroll on September 17; they will be open from 2 to 7PM. The Doublemint duo also reveals that they will be open for the weekend of the annual Hingham Arts Walk; they also share they will be launching their holiday line the weekend of October 24th, so mark your calendars!
Jennifer “Jenny” Nugent, originally of Concord, Massachusetts, has lived in Hingham for the past decade; on the other hand, her business partner Megan Pollenz, a native of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania living in Minnesota, relocated to Hingham seven years ago.
Their partnership all began after Jenny and Megan both finished large home renovations of their own; both women were looking to return to work, but wanted to find employment doing something that they loved to do. They tell me, “We enjoyed helping each other style our own homes and decided to see if we could do that for other people as well.”
They met with their friend Noelle Jarosz of 9Design Creative, also a Hingham-based business, who helped the Doublemint duo develop their brand and build their website. In addition, the Doublemint team tells me they are also so excited to showcase the photography of another friend of theirs, Kerry Riordan of Blu Lemonade Photography, on their website. “Both of these lovely ladies are Hingham residents and local business owners,” they say proudly.
“We never thought we would be opening a space during a global pandemic while managing remote learning for our children,” the Doublemint duo admits. “This year will be a hybrid for us, but we plan to think outside the box and offer shopping evenings and weekend hours as well. Our goal is to provide the last styling layer to a home to make it complete. We hope to continue to bring joy to our customers and be an outlet during these crazy times by helping them make their homes a place they can enjoy with functional and beautiful home accents.”
Online shopping via the Doublemint Home website and shoppable Instagram posts will be coming in early 2021.
