The driver of the SUV that plowed into the Apple Store at Derby Street Shops last November, killing a New Jersey man and seriously injuring 22 other people, has been indicted on one count each of murder in the second degree and motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, according to published reports based on information from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

Bradley Rein, 53, of Hingham, who was indicted by a Plymouth County grand jury on Tuesday, also faces charges of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, 18 counts of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Rein was arrested after the 2019 Toyota 4Runner he was driving went through the Apple Store plate glass storefront window at about 10:45 a.m. on Nov.  21. Rein, who  told police that the crash was caused by his foot becoming stuck on the accelerator pedal, was arraigned in Hingham District Court the following morning.

Rein has been out on $100,000 bail since December. Among the conditions of release were that he not operate a motor vehicle and not leave the state without prior approval of the court.
