The driver of the SUV that plowed into the Apple Store at Derby Street Shops on Nov. 21 and pleaded not guilty to one count each of reckless homicide by a motor vehicle and reckless operation of a motor vehicle is out on $100,000 bail, according to published reports based on information from Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz's office.
One death -- Kevin Bradley, 65, of Wayne, New Jersey -- and many serious injuries resulted from the crash, which left a large hole in the storefront glass.
Judge Heather Bradley adopted the Commonwealth's bail recommendation at the time of the arraignment of Bradley Rein, 53, a former Natick resident now living in Hingham, who was arrested following the incident after the 2019 Toyota 4Runner he was driving went through the Apple Store plate glass storefront window at about 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 21. He was arraigned in Hingham District Court the following morning.
Among the conditions of release are that Rein not operate a motor vehicle and not leave the state without approval of the court, according to an earlier news release from Cruz's office.
Rein told police that the crash was caused by his foot becoming stuck on the accelerator pedal.
He is next scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 22, 2022.
