If Liberty Pole residents heard loud noises today, they need not to worry – it was just the Dropkick Murphy’s dropping by the neighborhood! Today, the infamous Celtic Punk band filmed a new music video in Hingham at a Liberty Pole home on Pioneer Road. The home is currently being renovated by PJ Antonik, Hingham resident, founder of Oak Development and Design and star of the hit show “Heart of Oak” on NESN.
Ken Casey, Hingham resident and bassist/lead vocalist for Dropkick Murphy’s was at the home in Liberty Pole today alongside his bandmates Matt Kelly, Al Barr, James Lynch, Tim Brennan and Jeff DaRosa to film scenes for their new music video for an upcoming release “Smash Shit Up.”
The Anchor caught up with Antonik today and asked him what it was like to work with the Dropkick Murphy's. "We’re used to having cameras around for our show, but it was a lot of fun to have two different film crews in one of our houses today. The Dropkicks are invited to all of our demo days from now on. These guys are great musicians and a lot of fun to work with - we’re excited that they chose one of our projects for their music video. We can’t wait to see it!"
The new song is set to be released later this month.
