This year's Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Drug Take Back Day will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event provides an opportunity for Americans to help prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths by safely getting rid of prescription drugs that are no longer needed. According to the 2017 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, six million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs — a majority of which were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. So when you head out to the dump, stop by the Hingham PoliceDepartment at 210 Central Street and drop old or unused drugs in the drop box in the lobby.
