Are you looking for a way to help your middle schooler improve their executive functioning and study habits? Starting this January, experienced tutor and educator Ben Louchheim will be offering in-person tutoring sessions at the Hingham Public Library for students in grades 6 through 8. These sessions provide individualized strategies to enhance time management, organization, planning, and task initiation, setting students up for success in school and beyond.
Service Details:
- When:
- Sundays (1/12 to the end of the school year):
- 6th Grade: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
- 7th Grade: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- 8th Grade: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Wednesdays (1/15 to 3/12):
- 6th Grade: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
- 7th Grade: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- 8th Grade: 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
- Sundays (1/12 to the end of the school year):
- Where: Hingham Public Library
- Cost:
- $50 per session
- $45 per session if signing up for both Sunday and Wednesday ($90 total)
- Program Focus:
- Each tutoring session is tailored to introduce and apply key executive functioning skills. On Sundays, students will learn foundational skills such as time management, planning, organization, and task initiation. These skills are reinforced and applied to real assignments on both Sundays and Wednesdays.
- The goal is to equip students with the tools they need to succeed at Hingham Middle School (HMS), Hingham High School (HHS), or any other academic institution.
About the Tutor:
Ben Louchheim brings extensive teaching experience and a deep understanding of the academic demands of Hingham Public Schools. Currently an 8th Grade History and Civics teacher at HMS, Ben has also taught at Hingham High School for over a decade. His expertise in developing curricula and fostering study habits makes him uniquely qualified to guide students in building strong executive functioning skills.

- Bachelor of Arts in History, Dickinson College (2006)

- Over 13 years of teaching 8th-grade U.S. History and Civics
