Duxbury Out Battled Hingham on the Ice for a 6-4 Win

Freshman/Sophomores step up in big game, score 4 goals/5 assists.

Freshman Abbey Kennedy celebrates her goal with her teammates in the 1st period that gave the Harborwomen a 1-0 lead.  She also had an assist on the night.


Junior Defensemen Maddy Decelles clears the puck out of her zone.  The defense played well through the first 2 periods but Duxbury's offense broke out in the 3rd period.


Senior Goalie Lexi Marchand kept the Harborwomen in the game with some great saves early on.  She ended the night with 20 saves on 26 shots.


Freshman Piper Jordan scored on a 2-on-1 break away with Ryan Maguire.  Jordan's goal put the Harborwomen up 2-0 early in the 2nd period.  She also added an assist later in the game.


Abbey Kennedy flies up the ice late in the 2nd periods after Duxbury ties up the game 2-2 with two quick goals.


With just over 1 minute gone by in the 3rd period, Sophomore Lilly Thrun tucks one under the goalie's arm to give Hingham a 3-2 lead.  Unfortunately, Duxbury scored 2 minutes later to tie the game up again.  Thrun also registered an assist on the 1st goal of the game.


Senior Captain Katherine McNally tries to lead her team back from 4 unanswered goals from Duxbury giving them the 6-3 lead late in the 3rd period.


Sophomore Ryan Maguire makes one last push for the Harborwomen and scores with :36 seconds left in the game to bring them within 2, but it was not enough to take down Duxbury.  The girls are back on the ice Wednesday, Feb 12th vs Norwell at 4pm at Pilgrim.
