There's good news for Hingham and other educators wishing to get the COVID-19 vaccination sooner rather than later.

Gov. Charlie Baker announced today that starting March 11, teachers and school staff will be eligible to sign up for COVID-19 vaccination appointments, even though they aren’t currently eligible to do so under the state’s vaccine rollout plan. Educators will be able to sign up at any of the many larger-scale vaccination sites that receive the vaccine from the state.

At the same time, the CVS website announced that the pharmacy will offer vaccinations to K-12 teachers and daycare and preschool workers by appointment through local CVS pharmacies starting today, March 3.

Those interested in being administered the vaccine may schedule appointments through the state’s Vaccine Finder website (vaxfinder.mass.gov).   They may also call the State at 2‐1‐1 for assistance with vaccine information and appointments, Town Administrator Tom Mayo said earlier.
