HLCT’s guided Spring Walk will be on Sat., 5/3, at 10 a.m. at Webb Memorial State Park in Weymouth. Led by Andrew Hultin, Weymouth Conservation Administrator, we will explore the three glacial drumlins and the marsh that form this peninsula in the Hingham Bay and keep an eye and ear out for migratory birds.
As our nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War, we will also be joined by Commander Perkins from the Hingham Militia. In full uniform, he will discuss the Battle of Grape Island, the only hyper-local battle of the Revolutionary War, as we look across the water to its site. Huzzah!
The walk is just over a mile long and includes uneven terrain; please plan accordingly and dress for the weather. We will gather around the kiosk in the front of the parking lot to begin, and hope that you can join us.
