Before the Harborwomen faced off against Whitman-Hanson on Friday night, they honored their one and only senior on the team, captain Abbey Foley. She is a four year player in the program and has stepped into a big leadership role in this strange and unique year.
Head Coach Eugene Buczynski had this to say about her to the crowd.
"Abbey has exemplified what it means to be a Harborwomen. Abbey is the first in drills, she is fantastic working with our youth and most importantly, she puts her friends and teammates first. It has been an honor to coach her."
Unfortunately, the ceremony was the highlight of the night for Hingham. They ran into a motivated and white hot Panther’s team. WH jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in the game. Hingham was without their junior captain and leading shot blocker Caroline Connelly and sophomore Sarah Holler, who has been getting a lot playing time in recent games. Even with a full squad, it’s not certain that it would have prevented the Panther’s from hitting 10 3-pointers in the game, which was two more 2-pointers (8) and free throws (8) they made. Foley had 6 points on senior night while fellow captain, junior Perry Blasetti led the Harborwomen with 17 points.
Hingham is back at it on Monday at home vs Duxbury at 6:30pm. Please continue to check the schedule at www.hinghamathletics.com for the most up-to-date information.
