Gloria Louise (Paolantoni) Graffeo, of Hingham, formerly of Lexington, died peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Linden Ponds in Hingham. She was 91.
Gloria was born in Malden on July 19, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Marzia (Ionni) Paolantoni. She was raised in Malden, attended local schools and graduated from Malden High School.
A homemaker, she raised her family with love and devotion. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren meant the world to her. Gloria is described as a strong, loving, and elegant woman. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was the treasurer of the Italian American Club at Linden Ponds in Hingham and participated in the Linden Ponds Walking Group. Her life lessons and example are part of her legacy that continue through those who love her. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.
Gloria was the wife of the late Joseph H.A. Graffeo, who died in 1996. She was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Robert F. Vanni, Jr., who died in 1962. Gloria was the devoted mother of Marisa Skelton and her spouse Peter of Sudbury, Leila Hill of Hull, and Robin Dullea of Florida. She was the loving grandmother of Andrew Skelton and his spouse Federica Colapaoli of Framingham, Brian Hill Jr. and his spouse Amanda of Florida, Robert Hill of California, Michael Hill of Hull, Taylor McClure-Skelton and his spouse Sean of North Carolina. She was the loving great grandmother of Filippo and Alessio Skelton, both of Framingham, Beckham and Harlow Hill, both of Florida. Gloria was the dear sister of the late Mary DeMarco and the late Frank Palantoni. She is also survived by a dear niece, Joyce Garafano, and a dear nephew, Michael DeMarco, a very loving friend, Mary Helen Landergren, and many loving nieces, nephews, two cousins in Italy, Francesco Ionni and Louisa Ionni Cervelli, extended family members and two dear childhood friends.
Following cremation, Gloria will be interred privately in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
