Grace Chen invited to perform with the Plymouth Philharmonic

South Shore Conservatory congratulates Hingham pianist Grace Chen for placing first in the age 11-13 division, and being named Overall Winner in SSC’s 34th annual HuiMin Wang Youth Concerto Competition. As winner, Grace performs her winning concerto at the Plymouth Philharmonic’s March 6 family concert at Memorial Hall in Plymouth.

A student at Derby Academy, Grace, 12, studies with SSC instructor HuiMin Wang, and has won prizes in past HuiMin Wang Youth Concerto Competitions, SSC’s Piano Solo Competition, as well as at the Russian Music Competition, the Bay State Piano Contest, and the Steinway Piano Competition. She has performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC, and Jordan Hall in Boston. In addition to piano, Grace also plays the cello and ice hockey.
