Come watch the reigning State Champions, the Hingham High School Crew team, as they take to the waters for the annual Salty Bow Sprints in Hingham Harbor on Sunday, April 27! The action kicks off at approximately 10am.

More than 100 HHS athletes will be competing in exciting 1,300-meter sprint races against Duxbury Maritime School. The event features ten races departing from the Hingham Maritime Center and running until approximately 1 p.m. in Hingham bay. The athletes will be rowing in 8+ boats, each consisting of eight rowers and a coxswain. Join us to cheer on our rowers and check out the Hingham High School crew team.

“The Salty Bow Sprints is a tradition for kicking off the spring racing season, which features shorter distances than our fall races. We thrive on the community support for the hometown team and are ready to showcase our hard work," said Coach Pat Houle, program director of the HHS Crew team. Houle, who started his coaching career with the girls’ side of the program, has been with the team for more than a decade.

The Hingham High School Rowing Association (HHSRA), the nonprofit organization that oversees the HHS Crew team, proudly hosts the Salty Bow Sprints each spring. Spectators can enjoy the races from Hingham Bathing Beach, where HHSRA will be grilling up burgers and hot dogs. HHSRA is selling Salty Bow hoodies and T-shirts to show off team spirit but they must be pre-ordered here by Friday April 11:
