About 93 properties in Hingham Centre and the surrounding area are located within the construction limits of National Grid's planned natural gas main replacement project scheduled to start March 8. The targeted completion date is the end of November, weather permitting.
The work -- which includes 4 to 263 East St.; 17 to 51 Leavitt St.; and 1 to 12 Rockwood Road -- will be done at night, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Friday.
As part of this project, National Grid will also replace the natural gas service piping that connects the main to customers' gas meters.
In a notice to Hingham town officials, National Grid said the company "will work hard to complete this project promptly and with minimal disruption to the community." Affected property owners have been notified.
