Calling all South Shore actresses: Auditions for the hilarious comedy “The Sweet Delilah Swim Club” have been scheduled by Hingham Civic Music Theatre for Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 21 and 22.

The tryouts will begin at 6:45 p.m. each evening at Hingham Town Hall’s Sanborn Auditorium, 210 Central St., with director Danny Bolton seeking five women for the “Sweet Delilah” cast. Hingham Civic will present the show there on two weekends, April 28-29 and May 6-7. To sign up in advance for auditioning, you can use this link: https://signup.com/go/yGtQWJO

The show tells of five long-time friends—Dinah, Sheree, Lexie, Vernadette and Jeri Neal—who reunite at Sweet Delilah Beach on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, and are shocked to learn of Jeri Neal’s late entry into motherhood. The five use each other to help deal with various individual challenges involving men, sex, marriage, parenting, and divorce. And in the second act, they learn to rely on each others’ strength and love to move the comedy, and their undying friendship, in a surprising and touching new direction.

Director- Danny Bolton

Director for the production is veteran actor Danny Bolton, whose Boston College training has led to his acting or directing in venues from Boston’s Shubert Theatre, Company Theatre and Lyric Stage, and outlying theaters around eastern Massachusetts. His performances have garnered him coveted IRNE awards for Best Actor in a Musical and Best Featured Actor in a Musical, along with a BroadwayWorld Award for Best Featured Actor, and a Moss Hart Award for Excellence in Theatre. He has been an Actors Equity Association member since 1995.

Hingham has scheduled April 28-29 and May 6-7 to present the show, which follows last year’s smash hit “Guys and Dolls.”
