On Thursday, June 8, the Hingham Democratic Town Committee (HDTC) elected 8 delegates to represent Hingham at the 2023 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention.
Hingham’s elected delegates for 2023 are: Megan Buhr, James Byrne, Clark Frazier, Jasper Lee, Wayne Mesard, Dan Power, Kathy Swanson, and Ellen Whalen. Hingham’s delegation will also include Carlos Da Silva and Joe Kelly, members of the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee, as well as John Deeley, the elected Chair of the HDTC.
On Saturday, September 23rd, delegates will gather at the Tsongas Center in Lowell to adopt a Party Agenda and/or Platform by a majority vote of Convention delegates present and voting, based upon the recommendation of the Party Agenda or Platform Committee. Resolutions may be developed through a process beginning with caucuses of local Democrats.
People in under-represented groups can apply to become add-on delegates. Youth (ages 16 to 35), people with disabilities, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community not elected as delegates are encouraged to apply as add-on delegates by visiting https://massdems.org/your-party/delegate.
