The Hingham Education Foundation (HEF) is thrilled to announce Kate Dennis and Anya Reppucci are sharing the helm of the community-based non-profit this year.
Dennis helped lead the foundation as vice president with past president Eryn Kelley, and Reppucci has been a trustee since January 2020.
“I’m thrilled to be co-leading with Anya,” Dennis said. “She is passionate about our work, and it shines through everything she does. From the ideas she shares, to the way she partners, to the impact she has executing our work on behalf of students and their families, it is fantastic.”
Reppucci said, "Serving on the HEF board has been rewarding, and it's given me the opportunity to learn from Kate. Kate is skilled at keeping every detail top of mind, while ensuring we achieve the greater mission.”
What does HEF do?
HEF’s mission is to enrich the quality of public education in Hingham. Founded in 1992, HEF has awarded over $2 million to the Hingham Public Schools supporting critical tech initiatives, STEAM programs, an innovative social and emotional curriculum, and seed money for award-winning robotics and global citizenship programs.
This year, HEF celebrates its 30th anniversary. “We are incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished over these last decades,” Dennis says. “We’ve launched programming and initiatives that have directly impacted our public schools and the students, families and educators who make those schools thrive. We’ve also connected with the community through creative fundraising events, our annual Spelling Bee, and a new Hi5 program aimed at recognizing our incredible teachers and staff.”
None of that happens in a vacuum Reppucci added, “We are keenly aware of what it takes to fund the impactful grants that drive innovation and excellence in the classroom and are so grateful to this generous community for investing in our students.”
How Can I help?
HEF has exciting plans for the year ahead. On October 14th, HEF hosts a fabulous fall event at the Paragon in Hull. There will be food, music, and a fun-for-all cornhole tournament.
And that buzz you’re hearing around town isn’t just about the fall event, the annual HEF Spelling Bee is back and celebrating its 10th anniversary! The beloved community event engages elementary students in academic excellence and f-u-n. Join us!
