The Hingham Farmers Market (HFM) opens its 2022 season Saturday May 7, 2022 at the Station Street parking lot from 9am-1pm. The lot is located at the intersection of Station Street and Water Street. [A useful GPS address is: 95 Station St., Hingham, MA 02043.]
“We can’t wait to get going again,” said Mark Cullings, president of the market. “We recently signed a three-year agreement with the Town for seasonal use of the Station Street site and it’s great to have the stability it provides. We owe thanks to the many Hingham officials who’ve supported the market for so many years.”
Gretchen Roth, the HFM’s market manager, has been busy taking applications and filling the season’s twenty-nine week calendar. “We’re excited to see so many familiar and popular vendors returning to the market and are looking forward to welcoming several new ones. This year’s market will be the best one yet!”
The HFM’s popular USDA SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) program will be back after a year’s absence. SNAP benefits are being generously supplemented by a grant from The Fruit Center Marketplace. Eligible customers may receive up to $20 per weekly SNAP transaction for use at the market. Volunteers from the Friends of the Hingham Farmers Market administer the SNAP program at the administration booth located at the market’s entrance.
Hingham Institution for Savings, the HFM’s primary corporate sponsor for many years, has once again provided a grant to underwrite some of the HFM’s operational costs. We are grateful for the strong support of two of Hingham’s most recognizable businesses.
