This Year’s Harborworks Fireworks Promising to Be Better Than Ever, with Community Support
In less than one month the Hingham fireworks will light up the sky over Hingham Harbor on July 1st. Event organizers have a host of fun activities in the works including music and food, but are in need of additional financial support to pull it all together.
The Hingham Lions Club, with the help of a wonderful Harborworks Volunteer Committee, is hosting the festivities on July 1st for the 26th year, and it’s sure to be better than ever! Showcase Cinemas, which is opening its newest theater location, Showcase Cinema de Lux Hanover Crossing, on the South Shore this fall has come on board as the official sponsor for this year’s Hingham Harborworks event and provided the catalyst funding along with community support from past years – but more donations are needed to make it the best yet and ensure this tradition for years to come!
As of late May, The Hingham Lions Club is inching closer to having the funds needed, with 62% of the fundraising goal met. The beloved July 4th celebration is privately funded by community members and local businesses and not by the town of Hingham or public funding.
“We have not had the event since 2018…we’re very excited to be moving forward and we are getting closer to our initial fundraising goal. It would be great to have more businesses and individuals help out to ensure this tradition for years to come. We love hosting the beach based, fun event! Every contribution will help make the Harborworks Celebration a success,” said Mark Casale of the Hingham Lions.
The public is invited to join the Harborworks festivities on Friday, July 1 for an afternoon of music and an evening that will sparkle!
Contributions can be made by mail to the Hingham Lions at PO Box 153, Hingham, MA 02043, or online at https://givebutter.com/2022HinghamFireworks
