Hingham Food Pantry Open for Donations This Monday (3/23) and Wednesday (3/25)

Hingham Food Pantry
March 20, 2020 (submitted by the Hingham Food Pantry)

Once again, the community of Hingham has overwhelmingly shared concerns for our neighbors and support for the Hingham Food Pantry (HFP) - THANK YOU!

HFP plans to remain open and make healthy food available to local families. We are committed to the health, safety and well being of the folks we serve and our volunteers. We take very seriously our responsibility to be informed and are carefully monitoring new developments.

As an agency affiliated with the Greater Boston Food Bank we already follow strict guidelines for distributing food. In this time of heightened awareness we are following both the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Greater Boston Food
Bank.

We are
* Sanitizing and cleaning.
* Posting signs on pantry doors, reminding anyone who is unwell, has traveled out of the
country in the last two weeks or has been in contact with an infected person to NOT ENTER.
That will be verbally reinforced.
* Requiring frequent hand washing and all volunteers to be gloved.

We will implement a DRIVE THROUGH pantry until further notice. There will be no need for those receiving food to enter the building. We will continue to deliver as needed.

Hingham Food Pantry is well stocked for the next distribution, thanks, in part, to recent community food drives. The Greater Boston Food Bank will be open and available to help Hingham Food Pantry replenish that supply. Many of you have already reached out to help. Thank you so much.

If you would like to contribute we will especially need:
* Pasta sauce
* Tuna
* Canned fruit
* Canned spaghetti/ravioli
* Cookies
* Crackers
* Black tea
* Decaf Coffee

We will be accepting donations at 685 Main Street, Hingham, on Monday, March 23 from 2:30 to 4:00 and Wednesday, March 25 from 12:30 to 2:00.

Please place your donations in the carts in the parking lot and please do not leave food at any other time. You may also purchase from our Amazon Wish
List: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/dl/invite/83dR5Wl?ref_=wl_share.

Items on the wishlist may sell out, so feel free to find something similar elsewhere and mail to Brooke Bartletta 52 Fearing Rd, Hingham. She will be making the Wish List drop to the pantry).

If you prefer to make a monetary donation, checks can be made out to Hingham Food Pantry and sent to 685 Main Street. Or, you may Venmo @Brooke-Bartletta with a note in the "What's It For" section Hingham Food Pantry. Brooke will provide HFP with a check.

As Catherine D'Amato, President and CEO of the Greater Boston Food Bank said "We're in this fight together. Our collective health and well being demand our collective action". We can and we will do this. Thank you Hingham!
