Hingham Health Department Warning: Unsolicited Seeds Received via Mail

The MA Department of Agricultural Resources has been notified that several Massachusetts residents have received unsolicited packages that appear to have originated in a foreign country and contain seeds.  The Hingham Health Department has become aware that a Hingham resident received such seeds in the mail today.  While the seeds are not expected to be harmful to humans or pets, they could pose a significant risk to agriculture or the environment.

If you receive unsolicited seeds in the mail, please do not plant them.  Instead, you should hold on to the seeds, packaging, and mailing label and immediately fill out the MDAR form below to provide important information to state plant regulatory officials:
