It was a beautiful fall day for the 97th Hingham Historic House Tour. OverĀ 500 visitors enjoyed an afternoon of touring five beautiful private homes and five iconic public buildings: The HouseĀ Tour is one of the oldest and longest running house tours in the country, dating back to 1924. Since that timeĀ the House Tour has become a town favorite, drawing visitors from across the south shore and beyond!
This yearās tour featured some of Hinghamās oldest properties ranging in dates from 1650-1879. Guests were treatedĀ to the unique and fascinating house histories of each property. Stunning floral arrangements were created by theĀ Garden Club of Hingham to compliment the beauty of each home. Iconic public buildings on the tour included: TheĀ Hingham Heritage Museum at Old Derby, The Old Ordinary, The Benjamin Lincoln House, Old Ship Meetinghouse,Ā and Wilder Memorial Hall. The Hingham Historical Society offered refreshments and treats throughout the day toĀ guests in the ballroom of its headquarters at 34 Main Street.
