The Hingham Land Conservation Trust (HLCT) invites you to its guided spring walk on Saturday, May 4 at 11:00 am at Holly Hill Farm, 236 Jerusalem Road, Cohasset. Led by educator Janice McPhillips, we will explore the landscape of the organic Holly Hill Farm and learn about its extensive environmental stewardship campaigns. Walkers should dress for the weather and expect muddy footpaths; boots are recommended! Given the limited parking, it is requested that visitors carpool.
HCLT will host our 2024 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, May 8 at 7:00 pm at the Hingham Public Library, 66 Leavitt Street, in the Whiton Room. After a brief business meeting, our program will explore a key feature of our Hingham landscape: the salt marsh. Board member Eileen McIntyre will open our program with “A Dash of Salt Marsh History.” Guest speaker Dr. David Kimbro, Associate Professor of Marine and Environmental Science at Northeastern University will speak on “Salt Marsh Ecology in the Face of Human Disturbance and Restoration.” Guest speaker Alejandra Narvaez, Coastal Project Manager at the Trustees of Reservations, will tell us about “Salt Marsh Restoration at World’s End and Beyond.” The meeting will be recorded by Harbor Media. We hope to see you in May!
The HLCT is a non-profit organization dedicated to acquiring, preserving, and maintaining exceptional landscapes and natural areas in Hingham. More about the mission and activities of the HLCT is available at www.hinghamlandtrust.org.
