Coming up: Evening with the author; teen pop up art and book group
Evening With the Author -- Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Whiton Room. Anders
Morley will present "This Land of Snow," an honest, thoughtful, and sometimes
humorous reckoning of a true adventure filled with adrenaline and exuberance, as well
as mistakes and danger.
In his thirties, happily married and living in a faraway country but pining for the winters
of his New Hampshire home, Anders Morley made the decision to set off alone to spend
the four coldest months of the year traveling on skis across northwestern Canada.
"The Land of Snow" tells the story of that journey and of a man who comes to terms
with the consequences of living by nostalgia. No registration necessary.
Teen Pop Up Art: Felted Fox -- Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 4:30 p.m. in the Whiton Room.
Teens will enjoy crafting a charming fox with merino wool as they learn the basics of
needle felting. During this Pop Up Art School workshop, participants will learn how to
sculpt basic shapes with a barbed needle and how to add the beaded black eyes.
Needle felting is fun, relaxing, and easier than it looks. All supplies will be provided. To
join the class, register online at hinghamlibrary.org. Space is limited.
