December 17, 2024 By Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant

The Hingham Power Hour, a new video series focused on sustainability and electrification, is airing its first episode, “Welcome to the Power Hour! Let’s Electrify.”

The series is produced by Harbor Media in partnership with the Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant (HMLP) and the Hingham Climate Action Commission (HCAC), highlighting Hingham’s transition to a Net Zero future. Later episodes in the series are expected to include information about incentive programs and other resources to help residents.

The debut episode introduces viewers to the concept of Net Zero, the Town’s Climate Action Plan, and what a Net Zero home can look like. Host Brianna Bennett, HMLP’s Sustainability Coordinator, speaks with HCAC members about the Town’s goals and tours a local Net Zero home with homeowner Deborah Smith and Stephanie Horowitz, the Managing Director of ZeroEnergy Design.

“The Hingham Power Hour is about making electrification tangible so everyone can feel empowered to go Net Zero,” said Bennett.

“The Town of Hingham voted to be Net Zero by 2040, and this series showcases the innovation and collaboration happening to realize that goal.”
