Especially for adults
Building and Understanding Family Trees -- Tuesday, Sept. 7, 7 to 8:45 p.m., Whiton Room. Join genealogist and family history researcher Eric Migdal to learn about building and understanding family trees. The presentation will explain the differences of pedigree and family group trees, gathering accurate information, and understanding and analyzing relationships -- among other topics. Migdal will share some of the resources available to start a family tree online as well as some of the places to find information to add to a family tree.
As an adoptee, Migdal spent years seeking out information on his biological family. Through the modern benefits of DNA testing and the various resources offered online, he was finally able to learn about his family. His intent is to pass on that knowledge and experience to others seeking out their family histories.
This event will be held on Zoom. After registering online, the link will be emailed to participants shortly before the program.
Boston Classical Guitar Society concert -- Sunday, Sept. 19, 3 to 4 p.m., Whiton Room. As a guitarist, Thatcher Harrison plays everything from classical and jazz to fingerstyle and popular/rock music. As a composer, he deftly combines influences from many genres of music to create pieces that satisfy both the heart and the mind. As a competitor, Harrison has won 20 prizes in regional, national, and international competitions.
He is currently studying for his Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance at New England Conservatory and also studies privately with flamenco virtuoso Grisha Goryachev and classical guitar virtuoso Scott Borg. Registration is not required.
