The following statement was provided by the Hingham Recreation Department regarding plans for the Summer Program.

Many of you have been reaching out with questions and we would like to update all of you on the Recreation Department plans for camps this summer. The good news is that we have every intention of going forward with our Summer Programs when given the green light by state and local officials. We are moving forward with our scheduling and hiring processes in preparation. However, there are some approvals from our State and Local Government that we are waiting for, and our programs may look different this year to ensure they are run in compliance with the Local, State, and Federal guidelines. We have to wait until we receive those guidelines before we can 100% confirm that we are moving forward and in what manner.  While no camps are allowed in the current Phase 1, we expect guidance from the state soon about opening recreational day camps on a phased basis in Phase 2.  We will share more information as it becomes available.

Editor's note: This is a developing story and the Anchor will provide updates as more information and plans become available.
