Hingham remains in the COVID-19 "yellow" zone for the second week, with 34 new cases as of 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27.
New Massachusetts Department of Public Health statistics are normally posted on Thursday but were posted a day later this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The latest statistics reflect that extended period.
After being in the COVID-19 high-risk "red" zone for three weeks, Hingham remained in the lower-risk "green" category for two consecutive weeks, but the Nov. 19 MDPH statistics placed Hingham in the "yellow" zone -- which is between "red" and "green" -- with 21 new cases reported at that time.
This brings Hingham's total number of cases to 504 since Jan. 1, with 56 new cases in the last 14 days.
