A certificate of congratulations was shared by the select board this week wishing longtime Hingham resident Phyllis Chapman “a very happy 107th birthday.”
“This is probably the most important item on our agenda,” Chair Joseph Fisher quipped.
“A Hingham resident for more than six decades, a Bentley College alum, an avid fitness and travel enthusiast, and so much more, we admire your youthful spirit and wish you a birthday filled with joy and happiness,” was the board’s message to Chapman on the occasion of her Oct. 27 birthday.
Fisher and fellow select board members William Ramsey and Liz Klein have all attended past birthday celebrations for Chapman.
“Each time, I’m so impressed and amazed with her vigor, and it’s an honor that she continues to grace us here in Hingham,” Fisher said.
Klein called Chapman “an inspiration,” and Ramsey noted her many friends who enjoy celebrating her birthday with her every year.
“Our gift to Phyllis this evening is that we WON’T be singing ‘Happy birthday!'” Fisher joked.
