On Friday, over 150 Hinghamites gathered at Tosca for a day of fashion, friendship and festive fare in support of the Hingham Sports Partnership.
The event, which features local models donning apparel and accessories from local merchants, is a pre-holiday tradition for Hingham Sports Partnership and the women who support it.
In addition to the fashion show, there were raffles provided by Acquire Good, AZ Studio, Clandestine Kitchen, Core Studio Apparel. Delicious Designs. Doublemint Homg, Fruit Center, Green Light Higham, Hingham Greenery, Maggie's Doghouse and Re-stiched by Rindy Hesselman.
The event raised over $6000 with a live auction featuring a wine weekend in Nantucket and a foursome for golf at Boston Golf Club with former Red Socks captain and Hingham resident, Jason Varitek.
Models took the runway wearing clothing and accessories from Assembly Showroom, Carolann's. Chel Bella, Coral Cabana Chic. fig. a, Kloth, George and Dino, Louie and LaRossa Shoe and Talbots.
Event organizer, Brooke Kavoogian, shares with the Anchor why she is involved. “Who doesn’t love a ladies lunch? And when you add fashion and Hingham Sports Palomas, it’s an event you don’t want to miss," says Kavoogian.
Kavoogian adds, "Hingham Sports Partnership does so much for our town and children and it’s my favorite fundraiser of the year. The fashion show luncheon is an opportunity for the ladies in our awesome community to dress up, see friends old and new, support our local stores, and enjoy a delicious lunch all while raising money for an incredible organization."
Funds raised at this event go towards HSP's mission of offering financial assistance to Hingham's youth and school sports programs and promoting community awareness and support of athletic events.
When asked why she is involved with HSP, event organizer Jenny Nugent told the Anchor, "I believe in the improvement of our town and it’s facilities. I also love how HSP has created new and different sports for kids to participate in and we also are able to give scholarships to graduates as well."
Nearly $20,000 was raised for HSP at this year's fundraiser.
