Hingham Wrestling reached a historic achievement this week as longtime coach Paul Canniff earned his 300th career win on Saturday. “It’s a milestone that has been reached because of the hard work from multiple wrestlers and coaches that have been involved with this program over the years” said Coach Canniff.  Against North Attleboro, Hingham found itself trailing heading into the final matches when JD Lucas and Eamon Murphy pinned their opponents and Tucker Burke and Tyler Grady won their respective matches to put the Harbormen within 2 points with only the heavyweight match remaining. Julian Foppiano literally carried the day as he lifted his opponent in the air and dropped him to the mat for the pin earning a 35-31 sensational out-from-behind team victory.

The Harbormen continued its success on the mat these past two weeks by defeating Silver Lake, Duxbury, Rockland, Hanover and Plymouth South while narrowly losing to Brockton and Foxborough. The matches saw Aidan Chan go 6-0 against multiple opponents. Cole Riordan, Mia Dineen, Hugh McGourty, JD Lucas and Tommy Riordan achieved multiple pin victories as Ian Prebble, Jakub Wozny and Tucker Burke soundly defeated their opponents. Hingham returns to the mat on Wednesday against Plymouth North.
