On June 18, 2019 Construction Electrician Senior Chief Petty Officer Keith A. Jermyn, USN Seabees, reenlisted at the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis for his final Tour of Duty (3 years).

Jermyn is Hingham’s Veterans’ Services Officer. The presiding Officer on June 18 was Major Gregory Quilty, USMC.

This is Jermyn’s seventh Tour of Duty. Others include:

  1. OPERATION EARNEST WILL (FEB-AUG87)…PERSIAN GULF
  2. OPERATION SHARP EDGE (AUG90-JAN91)…LIBERIA
  3. OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/STORM (JAN- JUL91) TURKEY/KUWAIT
  4. OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM (JAN05-DEC05)…IRAQ
  5. OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM (JUN08-MAY 09)…IRAQ
  6. OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM (JUN14-JUL15)…HORN OF AFRICA

Jermyn, while on duty now for the next three years, will only be required to travel four to eight days a month all over the United States. Unlike before “no overseas duty is required.  I will still be available at Town Hall, and while I’m away on duty, the office will still be staffed for veterans and their dependents,” Jermyn said.

The Anchor salutes SPCO Keith Jermyn and thanks him for his dedicated service to our community and our country.
