The Kimball family - beginning with George E. Kimball pictured here with his family at the turn of the 20th century and continuing to his great-granddaughter Judy - have over the years, graciously donated images in a variety of media — glass plate negatives and lantern slides, black and white and color prints, and even video to the archives at the Hingham Historical Society.
There are themes running through the images: Summer Street and Hingham Harbor, the location of the George E. Kimball Lumber Co.; fires and the Hingham Fire Department, which Albert M. Kimball and later, Albert W. led; historic houses and views, collected by Judy Kimball, once active in our Historical Society and a member of Hingham's 350th Committee.
