Hingham Public Schools is thrilled to announce that Jennifer Driscoll will be the next assistant principal of South Elementary School. Driscoll will replace outgoing Assistant Principal Lori Jacobs.
Driscoll currently serves as a Social Studies Teacher at Hingham Middle School and holds the position of Director of the HPS Teacher Mentorship Program. During her time with HPS, Driscoll has gone above and beyond by deeply involving herself in HPS’ extracurricular activities and her commitment to community involvement and service.
During her time as a Hingham Middle School teacher, Driscoll has served on the HMS School Council, supported students as Club Advisor, and served as Head Coach for Hingham High’s Varsity Lacrosse Team, among many other involvements within HPS.
During her tenure as a social studies teacher, Driscoll has innovated her teaching by spearheading many additional and enriching experiences for students. Examples include holding a Veteran’s Day ceremony, a Mock Presidential Primary, and leading 8th-grade trips to Washington DC.
Driscoll has been celebrated in education numerous times, earning awards such as the Professional Honor Award, MCSS William Spratt Award for Excellence in teaching MS SS, Most Valuable Educator, and Plymouth County Rookie Teacher of the Year.
Driscoll comes with a Bachelor of Arts from Siena College, and a Master of Arts from UMass Boston, and has completed all of her C.A.G.S. coursework in Education Leadership Management from Fitchburg University.
Driscoll said about the selection, “While it is with great emotion that I leave Hingham Middle School after 20 years, I am so excited to have this new opportunity in the Hingham Public Schools. I look forward to carrying on the rich traditions and culture of South School and becoming an integral part of the beloved South Elementary School Village.”
Superintendent Adams expressed her excitement about Driscoll’s move into an Assistant Principal Role, stating, “We are so grateful to have Ms. Driscoll join the South School Village to share her creative energy and past leadership experiences with our elementary students and their families.
