Looking for a unique New England experience to share with family and friends? The 1686 Old Ordinary House Museum located at 21 Lincoln Street will be hosting special evening led Candlelight Tours Friday, November 3rd, Saturday, November 4th as well as November 10th and 11th.
Over the course of the 45 minute docent-led tours, guests will learn firsthand the hardships and simple pleasures of cold, dark, New England winters before the days of electricity. Learn how early settlers of Hingham addressed heat, lighting, domestic chores, and family life in an environment very different than modern amenities of 2023. The Old Ordinary dates back to the 17th Century, when it was both a private home and a stopping place for travelers between Boston and Plymouth.
Tours are offered at 6:30pm, 7:00pm, and 7:30pm. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.hinghamhistorical.org or in person at the Hingham Heritage Museum Visitor Center, 34 Main Street.
