Julie was born on March 22, 1944 to the late John and Rose (Kessler) Tuite of Hingham. Julie is survived by her loving and caring siblings, John of No. Easton, Elizabeth Clark of Hingham, Thomas of Weymouth, William of Hull, Andrew of Hingham and Paula Mullen of Franklin. Julie also leaves her sisters-in-law Ann Tuite and Lisa Tuite. She is also survived by fifteen loving nieces and nephews and twenty grand nieces and nephews, all of whom she doted on.
Julie was a graduate of Hingham High School, Framingham State College and received a Master’s Degree from Cambridge College. She taught home economics in Hingham schools for nearly four decades, where her students sewed their first aprons, and many more learned cooking skills in her innovative “Chef’s Club.” Julie also served as President of the Hingham Education Association. She enjoyed many adventures, traveling in Ireland and throughout New England. She loved taking her nieces and nephews to Friendly’s and making their Halloween costumes.
Visiting hours will be held at Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Monday, May 22nd from 4-6 PM, followed by a Memorial Mass at St. Paul’s Church, 147 North St, Hingham on Tuesday May 23rd at 10 AM. Interment will be private at a later date.
