Local photographer, Kerry Brett, has long been known for her stunning lifestyle portraiture. A former staff photographer for the Improper Bostonian, Kerry is a master photographer who has operated a studio and small business in Hingham for 23 years. Kerry's father, award-winning photojournalist Bill Brett, tells the Anchor, "Kerry began to follow me on jobs when she was a Junior in high school" and credits her for "thinking outside the box" to create portraits that are unique and beautiful.
Recently, Kerry Brett set out to do something good in support of our healthcare professionals who have worked tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through Brett's "Acts of Kindness Campaign," for every portrait session that is purchased, she is donating a session and an 11x14 portrait to the medical provider of their choice. (A value of $1,175)
"The true heroes of the world inspired me," Brett shared with the Anchor. "I'm excited to show appreciation in a creative, meaningful way––a way that will last forever because we are forever grateful."
Currently, Brett has donated over $40,000 in services to medical professionals during these unprecedented times.
Hingham resident, Kim Bello joined Brett's campaign after her husband survived COVID-19 and spent 32 days in the ICU at Massachusetts General Hospital. "Kerry reached out to me and explained what her 'Acts of Kindness Campaign' was all about, and I was so excited to become a part of it. During this time, the frontline workers in his ICU unit became our caregivers and our lifeline. Their strength and courage is an inspiration," shared Bello. Bello's portrait session allows the medical professional of their choice to receive a complimentary session as well, a gift that lasts a lifetime.
