NVNA and Hospice, a non-profit home health care and hospice agency serving 27 communities on the South Shore, today announced that Laura Winters has been appointed as Chair of its Charitable Fund Board of Trustees. She succeeds Sara Abbott, who has served as Chair since 2023.
With a daily census of more than 1,200 patients, providing home care, palliative, and hospice services, NVNA and Hospice expanded their patient care in 2013 by opening the Pat Roche Hospice Home. In 2024, the non-profit provided over 160,000 patient visits. Winters has been involved with, and dedicated to, the organization’s mission for years. Elected to the Board of Trustees in 2015, she previously served as Vice Chair of Donor Recognition.
Winters contributes a professional background of two decades in government affairs, communications, and politics with an emphasis on Medicare reimbursement. In 2018, Winters co-founded The Hingham Anchor and The Cohasset Anchor, growing them into trusted local platforms with over 70,000 monthly views. As a Local Property Advisor with Corcoran Property Advisors, she is fully immersed in the greater Boston community. Winters will be making a generous donation to NVNA and Hospice with each real estate transaction for 2025.
“It is a privilege to take on this role with the NVNA and Hospice Charitable Fund,” said Winters.
“Having served with the Board of Trustees for a decade, I understand the importance of fundraising for NVNA and Hospice to continue providing the quality care for which they are known. I look forward to working together to strengthen support for patients and families across the region.”
“Through our fundraising efforts and thanks to the unwavering generosity of the community, $26.3 million has been raised for our mission since 2013,” said Renee McInnes, MBA, RN, CEO of NVNA and Hospice. “Laura’s background in healthcare communications and long-standing philanthropic commitment to our mission make her an ideal Board Chair. Under her guidance, we will continue to drive impactful philanthropy and expand access to care.”
Originally hailing from Louisiana, Winters resides in Hingham with her husband, three daughters, and two golden retrievers.
