The League of Women Voters of Hingham will hold its annual Candidates Night on Wednesday evening, April 16, 2025 at Hingham Town Hall. Candidates Night offers voters the opportunity to hear candidates for town office answer questions concerning current issues.
Candidates Night will be broadcast live on Harbor Media’s cable channels (Comcast 1072/Verizon 2131) and will livestream on their video On Demand. The forum will begin promptly at 7 PM. Voters are encouraged to submit questions for the candidates of contested office (this year, Planning Board) to the LWVH in advance by email ( bandcwilk@me.com ).
The only contested office this year is a three-year seat on the Planning Board. There are eleven unopposed candidates for Moderator, Select Board, Board of Assessors, Board of Health, Municipal Light Board, Housing Authority, School Committee, Sewer Commission, and Recreation Commission.
A video link to Candidates Night footage will be posted on the League of Women Voters of Hingham website, my.lwv.org/massachusetts/hingham . The forum will be also be rebroadcast on Harbor Media’s local channels during the subsequent week leading up to the election on Saturday, May 3, on Harbor Media’s YouTube channel, and on Linden Pond’s in-house media.
Remember that Friday, April 18 is the deadline to register to vote at both Town Meeting on April 28 and in the May 3 Town Election. The application to vote by mail is available on the Town Clerk’s website and must be returned by the end of business on Monday, April 28.
