The League of Women Voters of Hingham will hold its annual Candidates Night on Wednesday evening, May 4, 2022 at Hingham Town Hall, 220 Central Street, Hingham. Candidates Night offers voters the opportunity to hear candidates for town office answer questions concerning current issues.
New this year: the forum will be broadcast live on Harbor Media’s HD channels (Comcast 1072/Verizon 2131).
The forum will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. Voters may submit questions for the candidates of contested offices to the League of Women Voters of Hingham in advance by email (bandcwilk@me.com).
There are four contested offices this year: a one-year seat on the Board of Assessors; a three-year seat on the Board of Health and the Sewer Commission; and three open seats on the School Committee. There are seven unopposed candidates for Moderator, Select Board, a full term on the Board of Assessors, Municipal Light Board, Housing Authority, Planning Board, and Recreation Commission.
A video link to Candidates Night footage will be posted on the League of Women Voters of Hingham website, http://hingham.ma.lwvnet.org/. The forum will be also be rebroadcast on Harbor Media’s local channels during the subsequent week leading up to the election on Saturday, May 14, on Harbor Media’s YouTube channel, and on Linden Pond’s in-house media.
Remember that April 2, 2013 is the deadline to register to vote at Town Meeting (April 22) and in the town and special election (April 30).
