On Friday, April 4, The Board of the Trustees of the Hingham Public Library (HPL) hosted Library Links, a fun evening of playing mini golf on a course that spanned the entire library. The night was a major success where fundraising goals for programs and collections were exceeded, thanks to the businesses and families who generously sponsored all 18 holes.
Throughout the evening guests were treated to music by the band Thirsty Boots and refreshments by caterer Cranberry Vine. Ruby Wines, Inc. and Sam Adams kindly donated the wine and beer for the event.

On Saturday, April 5, the Library Board of Trustees — with the help of the dedicated library staff and Mobile-Mini Golf — opened the course for free to the community, which drew an additional 350 people for a typical Saturday. It was the perfect activity for a rainy day that also included complimentary snacks. Friends and families with children of all ages had a great time learning the game, competing with each other and navigating the course.
On both Friday and Saturday, the golfers commented how playing on the course that wound its way throughout the library was a wonderful, surprising discovery of the HPL’s expansive offerings.
