Last week friends and family surprised long-time Hingham resident Phyllis Chapman on her 103rd birthday!
Phyllis Chapman is an active member of the Hingham Senior Center and following tradition, her fellow workout buddies wanted to help her celebrate her big milestone birthday even during the pandemic. The Anchor’s Josh Ross was on the scene to capture the action.
Her friends coordinated a walking parade on Station Street in Hingham so they could surprise Phyllis after she finished a hair appointment at her salon – Station 27.
The theme of the walking parade was “103 and Still Busy as A Bee” and passersby were encouraged to wear yellow and black and make birthday signs for Phyllis.
Instead of gifts, parade participants brought items to donate to the Hingham Food Pantry in honor of her birthday.
Happy 103rd Phyllis – wishing you the happiest of birthdays and year ahead!
