While the opening day for the family-friendly Locales Tacos y Tequila restaurant at the former Crow's Landing site at 6 Crow Point Lane isn't definite yet, owner Brian McLaughlin got the Selectmen's nod of approval last night to expand its earlier-approved dining hours to include lunchtime.

"We don’t have a date yet. The goal post keeps moving!" McLaughlin told the Hingham Anchor, but he remains optimistic that opening day isn't far off.

Now that the newly-reconfigured parking lot plan -- which includes an increase in spaces from 71 to 86 --  has been approved by the Planning Board, a 1999 restriction on weekday lunch hours due to a shared parking scenario no longer applies since the two properties are now under the same ownership.

Before the new parking plan was approved, Locales Tacos was unable to open on weekdays until 5 p.m., but the board granted McLaughlin's request to move that time up to 11 a.m. now that the parking issue has been resolved.

The restaurant will feature Mexican- as well as Baja-style tacos, burritos, salads, appetizers, quesadillas, churros (fried dough topped with cinnamon sugar), and a "tremendous" tequila bar, according to McLaughlin, who is also the founder of the popular Seabird Coffee & Co. in Cohasset.

Check back later for opening details and hours.
