Mann Street home destroyed by fire

Firefighters from Hingham, Scituate, Rockland, Braintree, Hanover, and Hull responded to a four-alarm fire early this afternoon at 4 Mann St. in Hingham. The home was destroyed by flames, with only the chimney left standing and crews working to put out flames among the debris. At this time, no injuries have been reported.  A nearby home was reportedly damaged as well.

The Quincy and Abington Fire Departments also provided assistance.

The cause of the fire is unclear at this time, and it is not known whether anyone was in the house when the fire broke out.

Videos and photos of the fire show heavy smoke and flames that could be seen for miles around, and sirens were heard in different parts of town as helicopters flew overhead.

According to Zillow, the home was sold on June 10 for $3.2 million and had been renovated.

  1. I lived on 5 mann street from 1951 to 1969.The Coulons and then the Driscolls were our neighbors back then.What a shame, Lucky they all got out! Sorry about the firefighters though.
