Old Colony Montessori School (OCMS) is proud to announce its collaboration with former Head of School, Mikey Walker, in supporting the Agahozo Shalom orphanage (ASYV.org) in Rwanda. Mikey Walker, in her remarkable commitment to service, is leading her 10th group of seniors from Boston city high schools to serve at the orphanage this spring. Mikey is the founder of The Kerry Jon Walker Fund, Helping Humanity whose focus is to provide inner city youth with life changing opportunities of global service in Africa.
Mikey recently visited OCMS to share her experiences working at the orphanage in Rwanda with the Elementary students. She highlighted the challenges of shipping supplies to Rwanda and how she and the student volunteers will transport all donated supplies in their suitcases in June.
The orphanage needs essential items for its new Early Childhood program. OCMS is enthusiastic about joining in and collecting contributions for this worthy cause and invites the community to participate in the donation drive.
